The mission of the institute is to develop materials for optoelectronics, to design optoelectronic devices for cultivation through industrial applications, and to use innovative optoelectronics-based techniques for art restoration and environmental monitoring/remediation fields.
The research and development activities currently carried out are aimed at:
- Optoelectronic engineering and analytical instruments;
- Fostering research cooperation through collaboration with universities and other higher education institutions;
- Development of international collaboration in EU-funded and bilateral projects;
- Strengthen institutional capacity building through postgraduate education (MSc and PhD students included in research teams), staff development, curriculum design, research and development;
- to use the legal framework for efficient know-how and technology transfer to public institutions and companies;
- to enhance scientific views, broaden dissemination and promote the valorization of research;
- updating research facilities;
- creating a stimulating and competitive, researcher-friendly environment through an updated management system.
